The cable has to make three road crossings on it’s journey from one house to the other, fortunately there are small bridges which carry water under the road which provide a convenient place to run the cable. There are also 9 gateways to cross, so 100M of blue water pipe was purchased to act as a duct at each of these crossings.
The cable was fed through the various lengths of pipe once they were in position and then cable tied onto the fence.
Waterproof junction boxes were used to join each length of cable to the next.
Sounds simple doesn’t it? But pulling 4000 cable ties by hand soon leaves you with rather sore fingers!
It took about 5 days of digging, burying, drilling, hammering and cable tying before the job was done, and then it was time to see if it worked!
